Biography
John Anderson, founder of John Anderson Service has called
Gordon County home his entire life. In fact, John was born and raised right here
in Gordon County. John credits his father, an airplane mechanic during the war
and professional tinkerer throughout his life with his mechanical aptitude. He
often jokes that his parents had to hide all the household tools to keep him
from disassembling all of the clocks and appliances in the house.
John, a graduate of Calhoun High School completed his education at Dalton State
College with a diploma in HVAC Technology.
Immediately following college, John started his own business specializing in
commercial refrigeration. Initially, he concentrated on local clients such as
restaurants, grocery stores, beverage stores, etc. With all the refrigeration
experience under his belt, it was a natural evolution into residential heating
and cooling.
In order to maintain steady growth, John has begun putting a larger focus on
sales and marketing. As a responsible corporate citizen, he was an early adopter
of, and continues to take training on cutting-edge “green” technologies and
strives to provide his clients with the most efficient equipment available.
With a focus on Indoor Air Quality and comfort, John has added several products
and services to his initial line of heating and air conditioning products. Among
those are replacement doors and windows, blower doors (a tool used to detect air
leaks in the home), blown insulation, custom sheet metal ductwork and even
geothermal systems.
In order to provide the best possible service, John maintains his office with
the latest hardware and software technology. Electronic dispatch and satellite
global positioning tracking systems enable him to manage his staff with complete
efficiency.
John still lives, worships and shops locally here in Gordon County with his
family. An active doer, he is a stalwart of philanthropy and community service.
He is a member of the Optimist’s Club and a member of the Vestry at St.
Timothy’s Episcopal Church. In addition, John’s company is a Chamber of Commerce
member, a member of the Main Street Partnership, and a member of the Better
Business Bureau. John also provides charitable support for local Habitat for
Humanity projects and actively participates in local events such as parades,
fairs, business expos, and the like to promote and support Calhoun, Gordon
County, and the entire Northwest Georgia area.
